Destinations: Yangon-Hpa-an-Mawlamyine-Yangon
Day 1 – Yangon-Hpa-an by car
Drive to Hpa-an (approximately four hours). On the way, visit Bayin Nyi cave, where images and wall carvings cover the cave’s interior, and then proceed to Kawgoon cave, a natural limestone cave measuring 200 feet high and 300 feet in length. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Check in to your hotel and enjoy a sightseeing tour of Hpa-an, including Kyaikalatt, a small rock hill formed in the shape of a wine glass, and Lombumni Garden, with more than 1000 Buddha images at the base of Mt Zwekabin. Enjoy sunset at Shweyinmyaw Pagoda beside the bank of the Thanlwin River. Dinner and overnight at Hpa-an.
Day 2 – Hpa-an-Mawlamyine by car
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and drive to Mawlamyine, about 1.5 hours south. On the way, visit Kawkathaung cave and Ruby cave, which features numerous Buddha images. East lunch at local restaurant and then check in to your hotel. Afterwards, visit Queen Sein Done Monastery U Zina Pagoda and U Kanni Pagodam, where you can enjoy excellent views of the city of Mawlamyine. Enjoy the sunset at 150-foot Kyaikthalan Pagoda, which sits on a ridge overlooking the town centre is the highest point in the area.
Overnight in Mawlamyine.
Day 3 – Mawlamyine-Katoe Kotnet-Mawlamyine by car
Breakfast at hotel. Excursion to Ktoe Kotnet, a township that flourished under the British administration due its timber enterprises. Here, well-known timber and steamship entrepreneur U Nar Aout built masterpiece monasteries, monuments and pagodas that are well preserved today. Eat lunch at a local restaurant in Mawlamyine. After lunch, sightsee around this old colonial outpost, stopping for photos at churches around the town. Enjoy sunset at the viewpoint. Overnight in Mawlamyine.
Day 4 – Mawlamyine-Yangon by car
Check out of your hotel after breakfast and leave Mawlamyine via the Thaton-Mottama road arriving in Yangon about eight hours later. On the way, visit Zinkyaik Waterfall and Shwesaryan Pagoda in Thaton. Lunch at local restaurant in Kyaikhto.
